I photographed an engagement session this afternoon in a t-shirt. Although it started out cloudy, the day turned out to be pretty nice. This same day two years ago was nice too but a bit cooler as Miller and Nathan said their vows in an outdoor ceremony at sunset. The couple got ready at Chattanooga's historic Read House Hotel before walking across the street for their ceremony in Miller Plaza. The reception was held in the Waterhouse Pavilion on the plaza.

The Krytal Hamburger Eating Championship was held the same day, and we ran into the contest winner Takeru Kobayashi in the hotel lobby. He ate 67 Krystals in 8 minutes!

Chili peppers were used in decorations (the theme continued with the food as guests were served an elaborate burrito bar).

Knoxville has gotten a little rain this week, but it didn't stop me from photographing Emily and Clay's wedding portraits in Cades Cove yesterday. Although the forecast called for showers all day, it cleared up just long enough for our photo shoot. The wet ground wasn't helpful, but the rain did keep away the crowds and give us some nicely overcast skies. Here are a few favorites.

Saturday was a beautiful Autumn day for the wedding of Diana and Zach. The ceremony was held in the old sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Sevierville. The Lodge at Hidden Mountain Resort was a great reception site and definitely worth checking out. Guests enjoyed all the favorites of a Southern thanksgiving feast: turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, green beans, rolls, dressing. The band Rough Edges provided live bluegrass music that fit perfectly with a fall, mountain wedding.

Diana was a beautiful bride, and of course I have to show the cute shoes!

After getting some photos out of the way before the ceremony, she anxiously waited with her bridesmaids.

Zach's grandmother baked this amazing cake, transported it to the site, assembled it, and then took it apart and served it. Each layer was a different flavor (pumpkin spice, lemon, red velvet, white etc), AND they had a chocolate grooms cake. I did get better shots, but this one really gives you an appreciation for the size.

Jill and Ryan are celebrating their second anniversary today. After a ceremony at Springview Baptist Church in Maryville, the couple had a reception at Rarity Bay Country Club in Vonore.

Tip: If you are planning a bubble or night exit then you need to walk slowly and even take a moment during the exit to just stop and kiss or look at each other. If you run through the crowd then I will only have time to snap off 3 or 4 photos at most. Once you throw out any blinks or blurs, you may be left with one good photo of the exit. It's a fun moment so slow down and enjoy it like these two did.

Their son thought the cake smashing was hilarious, and he loved the balloons floating over the dance floor.
