Hayden, Ben, and I all had birthdays recently so we were able to celebrate for several weeks in a row. The best part was that I only had to make one giant cupcake. Hayden loved lighting the candles and singing Happy Birthday repeatedly, but he isn't a fan of getting messy so no cake smashing for him. When it was Ben's turn, he happily sqished icing in his hands before dumping the whole thing onto the ground and diving in.

As usual, they wouldn't cooperate for photos together. Maybe next year...













This next photograph shows my first attempt at a tent (and was obviously taken before we mowed the yard).

I've been thinking about this family a lot this week and thought that I would go back and share some more photographs from this very special session that I did with Harper Grace. This little miracle was born at 24 weeks gestation and weighed just 1lb 6 oz. Even though her due date was within a few days of the session, Harper was 3.5 months old already when we were able to do the photos. At about 5.5lb, she was still much smaller than most newborns.



















Harper has wonderful parents and an amazing big sister who just adores her. If there was ever a family that deserved a miracle, it's this one, and they've come through so much together. I'm so thrilled to know that Harper Grace is a happy and healthy one-year-old now!

Twins Hunter and Savannah turned one! Since there are two of them, I get to share twice as many favorites.

My blog is obviously a little behind, but here are some pictures with Josie back in April. She was ten months old and just starting to stand on her own. I photographed her one-year session over the weekend and can't wait to share some of the cute photos that we got. She's such a sweet little girl.

This little girl just gets cuter every time that I see her! It's exciting (and a bit sad at the same time) to see how quickly she's growing. She has mastered sitting, and is very determined to become mobile as soon as possible. I suspect that she will be crawling away at our next session. That's when things get really fun for parents (and photographers)!











Unfortunately, it's been either very hot or very cold for Josie's sessions, but we braved the winter weather for a family photo outside. I think that this photograph should be called "I've got my love to keep me warm".
