I'm going to be packing and moving for the next few days. Most of my office is already packed up so I haven't been able to burn discs, assemble albums etc this week. Thanks to everyone for patiently awaiting their orders right now. I'm going to have a larger office at our new house so I can be more organized and efficient once we're settled in.

My computer will be the last thing packed, but I wanted to go ahead and get these photos blogged before the big move. Stephanie is an aspiring photographer with plans to attend photography school after graduation. She's already a natural in front of the camera and did an amazing job modeling her gorgeous gown. I had such a difficult time narrowing it down and choosing which ones to share! Leave a comment if you have favorites because I'm always interested to see which photos others like best.  I was so excited that we found some dogwoods still blooming! It's a beautiful time of year for outdoor sessions.

Photographing Andrew and Whitney gave me an idea for a great giveaway. It's that time of year when girls are buying gorgeous gowns for prom ... and then hanging them in the back of the closet for the next twenty years. Before you have it cleaned and hang it up or put it on ebay, why not use it for some beautiful photos?

I'm giving away a free photo session for anyone willing to have a little fun in their prom dress. If you're a high school junior or senior (or even if you're already in college and just need an excuse to pull out your old prom dress), this is your chance to unleash the model inside. Don't procrastinate though, I'll be choosing a winner Friday April 25. If you're interested, just send me an email with a photo (or link to a photo) of yourself along with a description of your dress. Friends or couples can apply to have a session together.

Details: The session will take place on a weekday evening in the next month, and you must be willing to get your dress dirty. You don't necessarily have to "trash" it, but a willingness to sit/lie on the ground is a must. The photos will be uploaded to an online gallery for viewing/ordering, but no purchase is required. Check out this blog for photos from photographers and seniors all over the country who are having fun in their prom dresses.

First I would like to congratulate Gloria and Ed who were married Saturday at Church Street United Methodist Church in downtown Knoxville. Marcus and I photographed their morning wedding ceremony and the reception at The Orangery.

Yesterday I also snapped a few backyard photos of my brother Andrew and his date Whitney before they left for their junior prom. Unfortunately, the photos were taken before the prom so we had to stick with more traditional poses to keep their outfits clean. Most of the work that I'm doing right now is behind-the-scenes type stuff (posting galleries, making slideshows, designing albums, fulfilling print orders) so there isn't a whole lot to share. Here are a few shots of a proofbook that I just got in and will be sending out to Jessica and Chris with their slideshow DVD.

This past weekend's weather was really wet in the Knoxville area, and Atlanta wasn't much better. It was grey and overcast with sprinkles off and on all day. Unfortunately, Nicole and Clint's outdoor ceremony at the historic Pace House and Pavilion had to be moved indoors. The weather was comfortable with flowers blooming, and an outdoor spring ceremony would have been lovely. Nevertheless, the pavilion, with its windows on all sides and open rafter ceiling, provided an intimate and quaint setting for the ceremony and reception. The couple even wrote their own vows and left more than a few of the guests in tears.

Old Pace House is located in historic Vinings Village, a trendy enclave in north Atlanta. For smaller weddings like that of Nicole and Clint, it's a very charming venue. Even with the rain, I think that their day turned out beautifully, and everyone had a great time. 

Nicole's battenburg lace dress, bird cage veil, and raffia-tied bouquet of loose spring flowers (decorated with a cameo that belonged to her late grandmother) were a perfect, vintage fit with the venue.

While the pavilion was rearranged from ceremony site to reception room, Nicole and Clint spent a few moment together.
